 The event for secondary school students was to be to be held on Thursday, 2 June 2011, at La Vida Centre, Riccarton. “Normally, schools are delighted to send their budding leaders to our events”, says Annette, “but we realise that schools have been hugely disrupted in Christchurch due to the recent earthquake, and this has dramatically changed the climate for this event.  We were really looking forward to hosting the event, and I know the students that had already booked to attend will be disappointed, so it is with sadness that we have had to cancel.”

 NYLD events, which have been running since 2001, feature top speakers and role models. “We know we’ll be back in Christchurch again, but this year it’s just been too tough for both sponsors and schools”.

 The NYLD events for Primary & Intermediate school students in Christchurch on May 31 & June 1st will still go ahead as planned.

Due to our original venue being damaged in the recent earthquake, we will be holding our Christchurch events in a new location. Our new venue is the La Vida Centre in Riccarton – http://www.lavida.org.nz

Due to the La Vida centre being smaller than our original venue, we will be splitting our Primary/Intermediate event over 2 days. This shift has resulted in a date change for our Secondary Schools Event. Our new dates are as follows:

Primary/Intermediate School Events:

Christchurch (EVENT 1) – Tuesday 31 May @ La Vida Centre

Christchurch (EVENT 2) – Wednesday 1 June @ La Vida Centre

Secondary School Events:

Christchurch – Thursday 2 June @ La Vida Centre

If you have booked for the first Primary/Intermediate Event (Event 1) and would like to change your booking to the second Primary/Intermediate (Event 2) please email us at newzealand@halogenfoundation.org
